At Adam’s, the most expensive lot ever to be offered at an Irish auction is the Padraig Pearse surrender letter. Adam’s holds the record for the most expensive piece of art, €1 million paid for Jack B Yeats’s A Fair Day, Mayo, in September 2011. The Pearse letter ups the ante with an estimate of €1 million-€1.5 million.
