Paddy Power bookmakers has taken €40 million in bets on the World Cup, and Boyle Sports has reported a 450 per cent increase in business.

Paddy Power bookmakers has taken €40 million in bets on the World Cup, and Boyle Sports has reported a 450 per cent increase in business.

Overall, it is estimated punters have gambled €100 million – the largest amount ever bet on one sporting event in the state’s history.
