Is e-government working? Motortax.ie is. The Revenue Commissioners' revenue online service is (it has just posted figures of 157,218 tax returns filed online, up 54 per cent on last year's figure).

Is e-government working? Motortax.ie is. The Revenue Commissioners' revenue online service (ros.ie) is (it has just posted figures of 157,218 tax returns filed online, up 54 per cent on last year's figure).

And if you regard activities such as downloading application forms for things like mortgage relief to be an e-government service, it definitely is.

But as we wait for services such as the long-promised passport renewal service to go live, it's worth taking stock...
