Radio shows like Gardeners’ Question Time offer valuable information, but people need to listen, writes Ros Drinkwater

The best gardening program me I know is BBC Radio 4 ‘ s Gardener s’ Question Time. It’s informative and entertaining. No one I know combines wit and wisdom as well as John Cushnie from Co Down.

Perversity raised its head last week when a woman asked the panel for advice on how to grow acid-loving rhododendrons in neutral to alkaline soil.
