Connolly’s Red Mills is best known for its specialised horse feed, but it has a wide range of interests and is expanding its business into markets worldwide

When Liam Connolly was approached about a sick horse in 1963 by trainer Paddy Mullins, a friend and former classmate, he probably didn’t realise he was about to strike gold with his solution to the problem.

At his family milling and feed business in Goresbridge, Co Kilkenny, Connolly developed a formula for the horse that was packed with nutrients, and cooked it to make it more appetizing and digestible.
