Wine: The good value experience

Wine sales can be a great way to find cheap wines, but make sure that you're also getting something you will enjoy, writes Tomás Clancy.

Is a bargain an intangible idea or a mathematical event? Well, while a sale is any downward adjustment in the price, a bargain is essentially an 'experience'. Nowhere is this more obvious than in wine. This is because wine is an 'experience good' - ie one where we can only assess its true worth after its consumption.
