Wine: Irish stars of the wine world

A gathering of Ireland's wine geese would bring together producers from the oldest vineyards of France with the far-flung frontiers of the New World, writes Tomás Clancy.

Four years ago in California, I met Irish wine geese Jim Concannon and Jim Barrett, both of whom sadly died last month. In a small hut under the Californian sun, Concannon was clutching a bottle of his grandfather's Concannon D'Yquem.
