Will Ryanair follow Southwest down the Boeing MAX route?
Southwest Airlines has just made the biggest order ever from Boeing. Ryanair has been influenced by Southwest in the past but, for now, it is playing hard to get with the plane manufacturers.
Southwest Airlines, often cited as inventing the low-cost blueprint later adopted by Ryanair, has become the first carrier to order Boeing Co.’s 737 MAX, purchasing 150 of the more-efficient planes and 58 other 737s in the largest agreement in the planemaker’s history.
