Why one doctor is leaving the country

Bitter. That is how Dr Anthony O'Connor said he felt on hearing that consultant pay for new entrants would be cut by 30 per cent.

Bitter. That is how Dr Anthony O'Connor said he felt on hearing that consultant pay for new entrants would be cut by 30 per cent.

Within days of Minister for Health Dr James Reilly making that announcement, O'Connor decied to move to the United States. He will sit his first exam to enable him to make that move in the next few weeks.
