The latest rental market prediction suggests that tenants could be saddled with a 10 per cent hike in rents this year. That’s according to forecasts from Irish Residential Properties Reit (Ires), made at its agm last week.

As the largest private landlord in the country, Ires owns more than 1,000 apartments in Dublin. It plans to increase that to 1,600 by 2016 when it sees the market stabilising and rental increases of only 3 per cent next year.
