Where now for Shatter's justice reform agenda?

The resignation of Minister for Justice Alan Shatter is a severe blow to the government, and to the programme of legal reforms to which he brought such commitment and energy. If that reform programme now runs into the ground – as will be earnestly hoped and worked for by those opposed to it – then the country, and not just the government, will be the loser from his departure.
