Standing on a plinth under a poster of Luke ‘Ming’ Flanagan outside Gleesons townhouse and restaurant, he made a speech that was warmly welcomed by supporters.

‘‘I want to say this here in Roscommon . . . I want to say that the age-old problem in Roscommon town has always been Roscommon County Hospital.
