While buying goods for a four-star hotel in Germany, Ulf Oberdieck realised that consumers were paying different prices for identical products.

He and his Irish wife settled in Galway in 2002. He spent another few years working in the hotel industry, but last year began researching his idea for a reverse auction website to minimise the costs that consumers paid for jobs.
