Online interest in last week's budget was unusually low compared to other years, according to figures from an internet services company.
National and global events such as the Irish athletes' performances at the Olympics, including Katie Taylor's boxing bouts, the British royal wedding in 2011 and even previous Irish budgets recorded surges in internet traffic and usage. But this year's budget did not cause any peak in online usage, according to Cork firm Strencom.
