Extensive job losses, the losses of big employers and an increase in people renting instead of buying has had a detrimental effect on the Waterford property market over the past few years.

Since 2008, property prices have plummeted, but finally auctioneers are beginning to see the green shoots of recovery.

From January to September this year, 648 properties were sold in Waterford, in comparison with 494 sold in the same period last year.
