The first phase of the Belview strategic water supply scheme in Co Kilkenny will open next weekend, paving the way for large-scale industrial development in the region.

Some €13 million has been spent on the scheme so far, which includes the planning costs of the scheme, as well as the capital costs of initial construction.

Roughly half of that funding was provided by the IDA, with the other half split equally between Kilkenny County Council...
