A civil engineer and his teenage daughter had to stop swimming at Liscannor in Co Clare because raw sewage was being dumped into the harbour, the High Court has been told.

Michael Duffy claimed that his constitutional right to swim in unpolluted water was being infringed. He applied for orders against Clare and Limerick County Councils, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Minister for the Environment.
