Waste Summit: Action needed on Ireland's waste strategy
Call for local authorities to be granted increased powers.
The government waste strategy, Waste: A Resource Opportunity', contains one of the most enlightened waste policies in Europe to eliminate landfill in Ireland by 2020, said PJ Rudden, director, RPS Group. This, he said, was based on the EU 2020 Strategy of maximising resource efficiency' as one of the flagship initiatives and roadmaps to implement the strategy.
