Waste-disposal operators nationwide have paid tens of millions of euro in outstanding Vat payments after the Revenue Commissioners carried out spot checks.

Waste-disposal operators nationwide have paid tens of millions of euro in outstanding Vat payments after the Revenue Commissioners carried out spot checks.

The repayments were made after it emerged that a significant number of waste operators were paying just half of their Vat liability. The Revenue has since conducted a series of spot checks in recent months, and carried out a number of audits.
