Vodafone, ESB get EU approval for €450m fibre network project

The European Commission has given the go-ahead to Vodafone and the ESB to build the first 100 per cent fibre broadband network in Ireland.

The European Commission has given the go-ahead to Vodafone and the ESB to build the first 100 per cent fibre broadband network in Ireland.

The €450 million joint venture project, which was first announced in July, will bring “world-leading” broadband speeds to more than 500,000 homes and businesses across 50 towns in its first phase.
