Vodafone: 37% of Irish customers have smartphones

UPDATE: Vodafone's fourth-quarter organic service revenue growth has beaten estimates by coming in at 2.3 per cent, thanks to increased spending in Germany.

Vodafone Ireland has reported that 37.7 per cent of its customers now have smartphones after a 59 per cent year-on-year increase in the number of smartphones on the network.

The news was issued at the same time as Vodafone said its group fourth-quarter organic service revenue growth has beaten estimates by coming in at 2.3 per cent, thanks to increased spending in Germany.

Analysts had expected 1.7 per cent growth.
