Trips by British visitors to Ireland increased by 4.7 per cent to 580,800 while trips by other European residents increased by 3 per cent to 404,400.

Trips to Ireland increased by 1.9 per cent to 1,195,400 for the period from November 2011 to January 2012, the Central Statistics Office said today.
