With web cameras bundled into every laptop and free services from Skype and Google making video communication ubiquitous, the novelty of talking face-to-face over the internet has long since gone. Like any technology cycle, it's the phase that follows early adoption that gets more interesting as manufacturers and services providers look to tailor different types of solution to different users with different budgets.
