The fire-ravaged Australian state of Victoria, where more than 180 lives and 1,000 homes were lost last week, is bracing itself for more bush fires.
A senior forecaster with Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology, Dean Stewart, said Victoria could expect ‘‘temperatures in the high 20s across most of the state, with temperatures approaching 30 degrees across the northern [Victorian] border.”
