Venture capitalists to give tech firms a Euro 300m boost

Venture capitalists are on course to invest €300 million in Irish technology firms this year, according to the Irish Venture Capital Association (IVCA).

Venture capitalists are on course to invest €300 million in Irish technology firms this year, according to the Irish Venture Capital Association (IVCA).

The estimate is supported by a strong first quarter which saw €145 million raised by the sector, up from €52 million in the same period last year.

Regina Breheny, director general of the IVCA, said the market was prone to volatility.
