Aer Lingus: no government stake sale to Ryanair

The Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Leo Varadkar, said that the government will not sell its 25 per cent stake in Aer Lingus to Ryanair.

“The Government is not prepared to support any offer that would significantly undermine connectivity or competitiveness for Ireland," said Varadkar this evening.

“Based on what is now in the public domain, the Ryanair remedies package does not satisfy our concerns about connectivity, competitiveness or employment for Ireland."
