Value of services rises 5.5% in May

The seasonally adjusted monthly services value index increased by 5.5 per cent in May compared with April, according to the latest data from the Central Statistics Office.

The seasonally adjusted monthly services value index increased by 5.5 per cent in May compared with April, according to the latest data from the Central Statistics Office. The figures show that there was an annual increase of 8 per cent in the value of the services sector to the end of May.

The biggest contributing sector to the overall increase was information and communication, up 12.1 per cent, followed by business services, up 6.3 per cent, and...
