UTV wins licence to bring Talksport radio to South Africa

A subsidiary of UTV has been awarded a broadcast licence to launch South Africa's first 24-hour sports radio station.

A subsidiary of UTV has been awarded a broadcast licence to launch South Africa's first 24-hour sports radio station.

UTV Media (GB) Limited - along with its four joint venture partners - was awarded the licence by the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) to launch Talksport 540AM.

Talksport 540AM will be modelled on UTV's London based station Talksport, the world's biggest sport radio station. Talksport International currently broadcasts live Barclays Premier League commentary...
