US senator Charles Schumer is today to introduce a bill which could allow up to 10,000 Irish citizens to work legally in the United States each year.

US senator Charles Schumer is today to introduce a bill which could allow up to 10,000 Irish citizens to work legally in the United States each year.

It is understood the visa would have to be renewed every two years and is based on an Australian visa programme.

According to an article on IrishCentral.com, Schumer said leading Democrat Senator Pat Leahy and Senator Richard Durbin would co-sponsor the legislation and he is seeking support from Republican...
