Jobless claims in the United States dropped to a two-month low last week, the Labour Department in Washington said today.

US jobless claims fall to two-month low

Jobless claims in the United States dropped to a two-month low last week, the Labour Department in Washington said today.

The decline is a sign that labour market conditions are continuing to strengthen as companies retain workers and stronger household and corporate demand fuels order growth.

Claims decreased by 36,000 to 280,000 in the period ending Sept 13.
