US home sales drop 7.3% in December

The number of homes sold in the US fell by 7.3% in December, according to new figures from the US department of commerce.

Purchases of new US homes unexpectedly dropped in December, indicating the US housing rebound will take time to develop after the industry completed its first year of recovery.
