US explosives experts provided training to the Irish army’s elite bomb squad in Belgium and the Netherlands last month, The Sunday Business Post has learned.
US explosives experts provided training to the Irish army’s elite bomb squad in Belgium and the Netherlands last month, The Sunday Business Post has learned.
The defence forces have confirmed that an explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) officer from the Defence Forces Ordnance Corps attended training in October, as did other crime and security specialists from the US. The lead trainers were from the US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
