UPC is to introduce a 30 megabit-per second (Mb s) broadband service in January. The company, which markets itself as Chorus NTL, is also upgrading its existing 6Mbs and 10Mbs services to 10Mbs and 20Mbs, respectively. Subscribers to existing broadband packages will see their speeds increased at no extra charge.

The services will be available to small firms and households in five Irish cities (Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway, Waterford) and 14 large towns.
