UPC introduces new broadband speeds with record breaking display

Broadband supplier UPC has broken the Irish consumer internet speed record with a download speed of more than 1.4 Gigabits per second over a standard home cable.

Broadband supplier UPC has broken the Irish consumer internet speed record with a download speed of more than 1.4 Gigabits per second over a standard home cable.

At that speed it takes less than 30 seconds to download a two hour movie and it is 15 times faster than the highest possible speeds for next generation DSL technology, UPC said.

The company said that from today it is doubling its standard entry level broadband speeds for new customers...
