Unsold housing stock figures scarcer than first estimated

New figures from Homebond, which registers new housing developments, suggest there are 34,000 unsold new homes around the country - a much lower total than previously estimated.

New figures from Homebond, which registers new housing developments, suggest there are 34,000 unsold new homes around the country - a much lower total than previously estimated.

According to the figures, 9,500 houses remain unsold in Dublin. Previous research revealed much higher estimates - including that of Goodbody Stockbrokers, whose report suggested there were 50,000 unsold units countrywide.
