Unlicensed security contractors fined €120k by agency

The Private Security Authority (PSA) has prosecuted ten unlicensed security contractors and individuals in the past six months, securing fines and costs of €120,000.

The Private Security Authority (PSA) has prosecuted ten unlicensed security contractors and individuals in the past six months, securing fines and costs of €120,000.

Some security firms are having difficulty obtaining tax clearance certs for their licences, because companies that owe them money are going bankrupt, according to the authority.

Since January, the PSA has inspected 236 venues and found 95 per cent staff compliant with licensing. But 15 per cent of these were not...
