The hotel sector will face increased competition for guests this summer from an unlikely source – the country’s seven universities.

MUSA, the organisation responsible for selling summer accommodation at the colleges, is increasing its efforts to attract domestic and overseas tourists, and is also targeting the conference sector.

According to Mary Cunningham, president of MUSA, just over 9,000 beds and 600 meeting rooms will be available in the universities from mid-June to early September.
