Drugs distribution firm Uniphar is prepared to offload its stake in almost 150 Irish pharmacies affiliated to Ipos, the troubled independent pharmacy ownership scheme.

Uniphar will give a presentation to all pharmacists in the Ipos scheme later this week, during which it will offer the pharmacists the chance to buy out the minority stake owned by the distributor.
