Union anger flares after tough budget

In response to Budget 2010, many public service unions are threatening that industrial action will most probably be on the cards in the coming months

The Minister for Finance, Brian Lenihan’s budget might have satisfied the markets by sticking to the government’s promise of €1.3 billion of cuts in the public sector pay bill. However, Lenihan may yet be held responsible for the period of industrial unrest expected in 2010.
