Unfilled nursing post leaves new mental health unit idle

A newly-built Kerry mental health facility has been lying unused for months.

The new facility in Kenmare's Community Nursing Unit was supposed to take over from alternative mental health services provided in the neighbouring village of Kilgarvan. Services in Kilgarvan have been reduced from operating three days a week to one day a week, but the new Kenmare facility remains closed.
