Drug firm Novartis has taken a €5 million dividend from its Irish sales unit, and has said that rising unemployment could help its business.
The company, which had sales of €63.5 million last year, said that ‘‘a growing, ageing population with less healthy lifestyles’’ would also drive the drug market in Ireland. Novartis Ireland has about 90 staff and made an operating profit of €3.5 million last year, up from €1.5 million in 2007....
