Unemployment falls again in December

The standardised unemployment rate fell to 12.4 per cent, down from 12.5 per cent in November 2013, according to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office.

The standardised unemployment rate fell to 12.4 per cent, down from 12.5 per cent in November 2013, according to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office.

On a seasonally adjusted basis the Live Register total recorded a monthly decrease of 3,300 in December 2013, reducing the seasonally adjusted total to 402,800, it said.

On a seasonally adjusted basis the Live Register showed a monthly decrease of 2,400 males in December 2013, while females decreased by 900 over the same period.
