Significant issues in relation to proposed personal insolvency arrangements must be considered before new government legislation is enacted, according to an insolvency expert.
The Personal Insolvency Bill proposed by the Minister for Justice, Alan Shatter, and Minister for Finance Michael Noonan at the end of January set out four options for people in debt. Three involve a non-judicial debt settlement system, while the final option was judicial bankruptcy.
