Ulster Bank initiative targets tracker mortgage customers

Ulster Bank has a new proposal to allow tracker mortgage customers to keep their existing tracker when buying a new home.

A ew proposal from Ulster Bank to allow tracker mortgage customers to keep their existing tracker when buying a new home will "dilute the negative impact of tracker mortgages" on the bank's mortgage book, according to one of the bank's senior executives.

Last week, Ulster Bank announced a new "portable option" for its tracker mortgage customers, which will allow them to retain their tracker mortgage and move house.
