Tying the knot in Tuscany

Being the first in my family to marry, the news that we had decided to tie the knot in Tuscany was initially ill-received at home.

‘‘Why Italy?” my family asked with collective quavering lip. We listed a host of reasons, including a warmer climate, a higher probability of sunshine on the day, a beautiful setting amid stunning scenery, lower costs and the prospect of divine food and wine all produced locally.
