Twitter strikes again - sort of

The false AP tweet caused stock markets to fall, Republicans and racists to dance in the streets, and Obama's hometown of Moneygall to offer to hold the funeral, writes Garvan Grant.

Twitter has changed history.

It was reported last week that hackers had accessed the Twitter account of Associated Press and tweeted that US president Barack Obama had been hurt in a bomb attack on the White House.

The false report caused stock markets to fall, Republicans and racists to dance in the streets, and Obama's hometown of Moneygall to offer to hold the funeral, regardless of how many wanted to attend. They're still annoyed at not getting to stage...
