TV3 wants the new Broadcasting Bill to include measures which will ‘‘safeguard against the waste of taxpayers’ money’’ by RTE through closer monitoring of the state broadcasters’ cost controls.
TV3 wants the new Broadcasting Bill to include measures which will ‘‘safeguard against the waste of taxpayers’ money’’ by RTE through closer monitoring of the state broadcasters’ cost controls.
TV3 chief executive David McRedmond said that if dual funding - which allows RTE to take in ad revenue and the licence fee - is to continue, legislation must be enacted to require RTE to act in a commercial manner.
