Commercial broadcaster TV3 will propose to Minister for Communications Pat Rabbitte that RTE should stop selling ads on RTE One. This follows last week's publication of the outcome of the Competition Authority probe into how the state broadcaster sells advertising.

TV3 believes that RTE would lose €55 million in ad revenue if it ceased running ads on its flagship station, and in exchange should get all the licence fee money collected. Currently, the independent production...
