It might have come as a surprise to some members of the Labour Party when canvassing that they encountered people on the doorsteps who raised Ruairi Quinn’s attitude to the teaching of religion in schools. Now I don’t know how many people objected, or whether only committed God-botherers and Holy Joes did so, but such objections were indeed reported during the campaign.
