TV chief says ‘being different’ is the key policy for RTE One

Television viewers have never had so much choice at their fingertips and, while RTE has managed to stay ahead of the competition, the broadcaster is focused on keeping audiences interested.

Television viewers have never had so much choice at their fingertips and, while RTE has managed to stay ahead of the competition, the broadcaster is focused on keeping audiences interested.

Noel Curran, managing director of RTE Television, said his goal was to ensure RTE One stayed fresh. He is therefore willing to cut programmes which have been ratings hits, if necessary, and move new talent over from RTE Two.
